Memodyne, Melodyne, Memantine: Sorting Out the Lookalike Names
Memodyne is a one-capsule-a-day dietary supplement with L-arginine, L-citrulline, beta-alanine, niacin and calcium. Melodyne is audio software for editing recorded notes. Memantine (Namenda) is a prescription Alzheimer's medicine, and Memodyne never stands in for it. Memodyne Corporation was a 1970s maker of cassette recorders. Search for "Memodyne supplement" and check the bottle's seven printed amounts.

The problem
Why do Memodyne, Melodyne and memantine get confused?
They look alike on a screen and sound alike out loud. One letter turns Memodyne into Melodyne, and a quick glance can blur it into memantine.
Search engines add to the muddle. When we typed brand searches such as "memodyne price" into Google, it quietly rewrote several of them to Melodyne. Results for "memodyne side effects" were filled with studies of memantine, a drug with no link to the capsule.
So a buyer can land on the wrong product, read the wrong warnings or trust the wrong website. The fix is simple once you know what each name means.
Name lookup
Which lookalike name belongs to which product?
Only one of these names is the capsule sold through our order buttons. The others are software, a medicine, an old electronics firm or separate supplements.
| Name | What it is | Link to the capsule |
|---|---|---|
| Memodyne | Dietary supplement, 30 vegetable capsules, "Cognitive Support Formula" | This is the product |
| Melodyne | Pitch and timing software for recorded music, from Celemony | None |
| Memantine (Namenda) | Prescription medicine for Alzheimer's disease | None; never a swap |
| Memodyne Corporation | 1970s maker of digital cassette recorders | None |
| Mnemosyne, Memosyne | A figure from Greek myth, and names used by software projects | None |
| MemoHoney | Another supplement with the same seven printed amounts | Separate brand name |
| Other Memo- names | Memocept, MemoClear, MemoGenesis, MemoMaster and more | Separate products |
Software
Is Memodyne the same thing as Melodyne?
No. Melodyne is audio software that musicians and sound engineers use to correct pitch and timing in recordings. It comes from a company called Celemony and is sold as a plugin and as a standalone program.
Because the names differ by one letter, Melodyne fills a large share of Memodyne results. Autocomplete offers "melodyne review", "melodyne price" and "melodyne plugin" to people who meant the capsule.
If a result talks about tracks, vocals or licenses, it is Melodyne. If it mentions capsules or a Supplement Facts panel, it is Memodyne.
Prescription drug
Is Memodyne a form of memantine or Namenda?
No. Memantine is a prescription drug for Alzheimer's disease, sold under the brand name Namenda and as a generic. Memodyne contains no memantine and is not a drug at all.
Memantine
Prescribed by a doctor for Alzheimer's disease. Its dose, side effects and follow-up visits are managed by the prescriber and pharmacist.
Memodyne
Seven printed amounts: niacin, calcium, two forms of L-arginine, two forms of L-citrulline and beta-alanine. Sold without a prescription and not reviewed by the FDA before sale (FDA, Supplement Q&A).
Keep taking your prescribed medicine. Never stop or change a dose on your own, and do not treat Memodyne as a stand-in for memantine. No supplement has been shown to hold off Alzheimer's disease or other kinds of dementia (NCCIH, Supplements for cognition).
Side-effect lists found under "memodyne side effects" often describe memantine, not the capsule. See the real list on Memodyne side effects.
History
What was the Memodyne Corporation?
It was a 1970s electronics company that built digital cassette recorders and tape readers. Vintage computer collectors still post about its machines.
That company has no tie to the supplement. A Memodyne page showing data tape or circuit boards is computer history, not a product you can order.
Mnemosyne and Memosyne
Mnemosyne was the goddess of memory in Greek myth. Her name, and the shorter Memosyne, are used by software projects. Neither is a supplement.

How does Memodyne relate to MemoHoney and other Memo- supplements?
MemoHoney's label lists the same seven amounts as Memodyne's. Its sales page looks similar and prints the same Ogden, Utah PO box. Those are the facts we can see; we sell Memodyne and make no judgment about MemoHoney.
MemoHoney
A separately named product whose printed panel matches Memodyne's line for line. Compare the bottle in your hand with the panel you paid for.
Memocept, MemoClear, MemoMaster
These names turn up in the same press release format. Their formulas are their own, and none of them is Memodyne.
Celebrity ads
No celebrity is linked to Memodyne. A famous face in a Memodyne ad is a warning sign.
Same panel does not mean same seller, same price or same refund terms. Check those with whoever takes your payment.
Web addresses
Which Memodyne web addresses can you check before paying?
Our order buttons open one address: memodyne.com, the sales page. Several other shops also use the Memodyne name, and we cannot vouch for them either way.
| Address | What we can say |
|---|---|
| memodyne.com | The sales page our buttons open; prices dated October 13, 2026 (Memodyne sales page) |
| memozdyne.com | This website, a USA Authorized Memodyne Retailer; not the maker |
| memodyne.online | Named in a paid press release; not checked by us |
| getmemodyne.com, memo-dyne.com, memmodyne.com | Seen in search; we cannot vouch for their stock, prices or refunds |
Our own address sits one letter from the brand, too, so every page names the seller and the order phone. More on where to buy Memodyne.
Before you pay
How do you search for and buy Memodyne safely?
Search with a second word, then match what you see to the label. Five checks cover most mix-ups.
Search "Memodyne supplement"
The extra word drops Melodyne software and most memantine studies from the results.
Match the seven lines
A real Memodyne panel lists niacin, calcium, L-arginine, L-arginine AKG, L-citrulline HCl, L-citrulline malate and beta-alanine. See the full Supplement Facts.

The bottle prints: Gex Corporation LLP, PO Box 12730, Ogden, UT 84404, +1 (507) 448-8190, [email protected].
Compare the dated prices
The sales page lists 2 bottles for $158, 3 for $207 and 6 for $294. A wildly different price is a reason to stop and ask.

Bottom line
What should you remember about the lookalike names?
Memodyne is the capsule. Melodyne is software, memantine is a prescription drug and Memodyne Corporation is history. If you worry about your memory, a doctor's visit comes first; a supplement is no reason to wait (NCCIH, Supplements for cognition).
On the plus side, Memodyne's panel prints every amount, so checking a lookalike takes a minute. The wrong ingredient lists on review pages are the next trap to know.
FAQ
Lookalike names: common questions
Is Memodyne a software program?
No. Memodyne is a capsule dietary supplement. The software you may be thinking of is Melodyne, a pitch and timing editor for recorded music. Add "supplement" to your search to see only the capsule.
Why does Google show Melodyne when I search for Memodyne?
The names differ by one letter, and Melodyne is a well-known product, so Google sometimes treats Memodyne as a typo. In our checks it rewrote searches like "memodyne price" to Melodyne. Searching "Memodyne capsules" or "Memodyne supplement" avoids that.
Is Memodyne related to memantine?
No. Memantine, sold as Namenda, is a prescription Alzheimer's drug. A Memodyne capsule holds four amino acid lines, niacin and calcium, with no drug inside. If you use memantine, stay on it as prescribed and show the Memodyne label to your doctor first.
Can Memodyne be taken with memantine?
Ask the doctor who prescribed memantine first. No study has looked at the pair, and Memodyne's L-arginine has its own cautions with blood pressure and heart medicines (Mayo Clinic, L-arginine). Bring the Memodyne bottle to that appointment so the label can be read line by line.
Does MemoHoney list the same ingredients as Memodyne?
MemoHoney's label lists the same seven amounts as Memodyne's, and its sales page prints the same Ogden PO box. They are sold under different names. We sell Memodyne and cannot speak for MemoHoney's sellers, prices or refund terms.
Did the Memodyne cassette company make this supplement?
No. Memodyne Corporation built digital cassette recorders in the 1970s. The supplement shares only the name. Its label names Gex Corporation LLP of Ogden, Utah as distributor and names no factory.
